These books are not meant to be read by children. Nor are they meant to be read to children. It is meant to be read with children. There are questions in each fable to help the child develop their imagination, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This will not happen without total involvement and full engagement by an adult. CAUTION: Many Aesop's fables are dark and violent. We have softened them a little, but there is still some death and animals eating one another. We didn’t mean for these to become books. We were just trying to make Aesop's Fables understandable for our great-grandchildren. (Who are great in more ways than one.) We hope we have done that. It occurred to us that we are not the only people with great-grandchildren. We hope you and yours enjoy reading these books as much as we enjoyed creating them. It turns out there are hundreds of Aesop’s Fables. No one knows how many. No one knows how many Aesop really wrote, and how many others may have added over the centuries. People have realized for thousands of years that these fables are a great way to teach life lessons to young people. The point here is that we will keep adding books here as long as it is fun. We don't know how many that will be. |
