Slope, the Yellow Dragon, uses fallacies of scope to keep the nomads of the Mirage Desert under his control. Before Trudy and Jay can face him, they are forced to cross the dry arid wasteland without having time to properly prepare.
The author, Thor Carden, wrote these stories to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren critical thinking skills. Just by reading the story, the young reader learns one of the most important elements of these skills – identifying and refuting logical fallacies. Each dragon uses a particular category of logical fallacy to bind some of the people under their control. When the lies are exposed, the people are set free. The Yellow Dragon uses fallacies of Scope to weave his spells of deception.
